Rules

The SCC Fruit Cup 2024 Homebrew Competion is a great opportunity to have your beers judged within BJCP regulations. All entries must contain fruit as per the accepted styles on information page. If entering beer category 28C Wild Specialty Beer, it must contain fruit.

All entries must be handcrafted products, containing ingredients available to the general public and made using private equipment by hobbyist brewers (i.e., no use of commercial facilities or 'Brew on Premises' operations, supplies, etc.).

An entrant is one or more people submitting an entry. Member(s) of an entrant must have actively contributed to brewing, fermenting, and bottling an entry. Every member must be at least 21 years of age. An entrant may not be an entire brew club. Competition staff, judges, and stewards are permitted to be entrants. Professional Brewers are permitted to be entrants as long as the entry was not brewed on commercial equipment.

At this time we are limiting total entries to 30, but will re-evaluate if, (1) we reach 30 paid entries (2) we have enough judges to raise the entry limit.

The competition organizers are not responsible for mis-categorized entries or entries that arrived damaged.

The competition organizers reserve the right to combine overall styles for judging and to restructure awards as needed depending upon the quantity and quality of entries. All possible effort will be made to combine similar styles. All brews in combined categories will be judged according to the style they were originally entered in.

Qualified judging of all entries is the primary goal of our event. Judges will evaluate and score each entry. The average of the scores will rank each entry in its category.

All entries will be picked up from drop-off locations the day of the drop-off deadline.

Mail-in entries will be accepted.

The Best of Show judging will be determined by a Best of Show panel based on a second judging of the top winners.

Submitted bottles/cans become property of the competition.
